Rousseu's Hidden Art
Description: This project was created by using contour lines and upside drawings. We were taught how to do an upside drawing when drawing the animal that we wanted to "hide" in our picture. I chose to hide an elephant in my picture with a blue colored pencil. Then we had to create several designs with warm colors on top of the animal picture and try to hide them with these different designs. Before we created this image, we made red glasses with construction paper and red film. These glasses allowed us to see the picture behind the warm colors.
Extension Activity: An extension activity that I could do in my classroom for this could be having students complete an assignment and then use the classes to see the correct answers. Students could also create a large image of this but have a much more detailed drawing that is hidden. I think it would also be cool to use this in a language arts class with flashcards and design the back of the flashcards with the hidden words for students to read with the glasses when they are ready to look at the answer.
